If a deck of cards were played over many years… if each card were a character were brought into life only when played… If players pursuid different strategies of winning, but the cards too had their own memories, relationships, and rememberd the games previously played. If each “storm” mentioned in the book were the shuffling of the deck. If the games were Tarot, which is a game in which cards have something to tell, or poker, or blackjack, the card-characters themselves not in control of the rules of the game, perhaps themselves trying to restore their relationships and get to home… If the cards are bound by love, home, which are four-letter words…
